Immerse Yourself as a Reporter in the World of California Government and Politics

DEADLIINE MARCH 7, 2008 - click here for application.

Develop the skills and techniques necessary to write insightful and provocative stories. Find opportunities to publish your work. Experience an intense, two-week reporter’s “boot camp,” Get press credentials from the Governor’s office and Legislature. Work as an intern/reporter for a major news organization, with assignments that could lead to bylined stories, pair up with a mentor from the Sacramento press.

As scholars, UCCS students participate in classes and seminars. Some examples are: Source Development and Use, Journalistic Ethics, Computer-Assisted Research, Interview Techniques and Rules of Engagement
