UCB Public Affairs Journalism Registration - UC Berkeley students participating in the Summer Public Affairs Journalism Program will register for the class and internship via UC Berkeley Summer Sessions and receive credit through the UCB School of Journalism. Students should complete this registration process as soon as possible after being admitted to, and decided to participate in, the Public Affairs Journalism Program.

- Answer 'YES' to the question: ' Are you currently enrolled in or have you been admitted to a degree program at a UC Campus?'
- Select the correct campus on the next screen and answer the questions on the following screens. You will be directed to register via the familiar TeleBEARS system.
- You will register for two different classes for the summer:
- JOURN 197 - CNN: 53705 for 1 or 2 semester units and P/NP grading option. Keep in mind that UCB students need to enroll in at least 6 units to be eligible for financial aid.
- JOURN 298 - CCN: 53710 for 2 to 4 semester units for either the P/NP or Letter grading option.Keep in mind that UCB students need to enroll in at least 6 units to be eligible for financial aid.
- After entering these two classes, you will also be asked if you have applied for summer sessions financial aid. Answer 'YES' if you plan on applying for summer financial aid, even though you haven't yet. Otherwise, answer 'NO.'
- Students who answered 'NO' to the Financial Aid question will be billed and need to provide payment for Summer Sessions on the very next page. Students who answered, 'YES' wil be given a due date for the payment of their UCB Summer Sessions fees.
- The fee for Summer 2009 for students receiving 6 units of credit will be $1650. The cost will be less for students receiving fewer credits.
- All student will receive a confirmation number immediately after completing registration and a course schedule in approximately two weeks.

- Provide your personal and student status information in Sections 1 and 2.
- In Section 3, indicate the courses and credits you will be taking while in Sacramento:
- Internship - Department = ECON; Course# = 198I; Units = 1-8; 'S/NC or LG' = S/NC. All students will work the same number of hours in their internships regardless of how many units they receive.
- Class - Department = ECON; Course# = 175; Units = 4; 'S/NC or LG' = student's choice
- Keep in mind that UCD students must be enrolled for at least 6 units to be eligible to receive Financial Aid during the summer.
- Consult with your academic advisor if you are not sure how many units you should register for and whether you should take the class for a grade of S/NC (Satisfactory/No Credit).

UCSD Applying for Financial Aid - UCSD students should start applying for Summer Sessions Financial Aid immediately after registering for classes. Financial Aid is awarded on a first come, first served basis, so it is important that students complete the application as quickly as possible. Applications for aid are being accepted NOW and the deadline to apply is Friday, 15 May.

- Students need to be registered for classes PRIOR to applying for summer financial aid.
- Your financial aid award, if you receive one, will only be automatically applied to your UCSD Summer Sessions fees. You must pay for your Berkeley (Journalism) or Riverside (Public Policy) fees yourself and then be reimbursed from any remaining financial aid award you received.

UC SANTA BARBARA- Registration and Financial Aid for Summer Sessions
UCSB Public Affairs Journalism Registration - UC Santa Barbara students participating in the Summer Public Affairs Journalism Program will register for the class and internship via UC Berkeley Summer Sessions and receive credit through the UCB School of Journalism. Students should complete this registration process as soon aspossible after being admitted to, and decided to participate in, the Public Affairs Journalism Program
- Go to the UCB Summer Sessions webpage at: http://summer.berkeley.edu/mainsite/registration.html
- Read the instructions at the top of the page and then click on 'All other students should start here.'
- Answer 'YES' to the question: ' Are you currently enrolled in or have you been admitted to a degree program at a UC Campus?'
- Select the correct campus on the next screen.
- Fill out all of the information on the next two screens.
- When you get to the class registration screen, enter information for the following two classes:
- JOURN 197 - CNN: 53705 for 1 or 2 semester units and P/NP grading option. Keep in mind that UCSB students need to enroll in at least 6 units to be eligible for financial aid.
- JOURN 298 - CCN: 53710 for 2 to 4 semester units for either the P/NP or Letter grading option. Keep in mind that UCSB students need to enroll in at least 6 units to be eligible for financial aid.
- After entering these two classes, you will also be asked if you have applied for summer sessions financial aid. Answer 'YES' if you plan on applying for summer financial aid, even though you haven't yet. Otherwise, answer 'NO.'
- Students who answered 'NO' to the Financial Aid question will be billed and need to provide payment for Summer Sessions on the very next page. Students who answered, 'YES' wil be given a due date for the payment of their UCB Summer Sessions fees.
- The fee for Summer 2009 for students receiving 6 units of credit will be $1650. The cost will be less for students receiving fewer credits.
- All students will receive a confirmation number immediately after completing registration and a course schedule in approximately two weeks.
- Students applying for Summer Sessions Financial Aid should skip down to the 'Applying for Financial Aid section.
UCSB Public Policy Registration - UCSB Public Policy Program students will register for the UCCS Internship and Public Policy Seminar via UCSB Summer Sessions. Contact Nan Anderson in the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities office to obtain the necessary course numbers and registration instructions.
